Nora Ammar is a Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at CommonSpirit, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the U.S. with 2,200+ care sites in 24 states, and 35,000+ providers.
In her role at CommonSpirit, she identifies and leads strategic partnerships and investments to drive organizational growth on a global basis, increasing inbound patient referrals, diversifying revenue opportunities, building international healthcare capacity and access to quality care, and scaling CSH’s innovation and investment portfolio companies globally.
Previously, Nora was part of the International Business Development and Strategic Alliances team at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, the academic hospital of both Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical School. At NYP, she built international partnerships that leveraged her institution’s know-how to deliver best practices abroad in the form of advisory services and also supported global patient navigation to enable access to quality care for patients.
Before NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Nora worked at Mubadala Healthcare where she supported the development of sustainable, quality healthcare in the United Arab Emirates.
Nora also has extensive finance experience having worked at investment banking firms, such as Lehman Brothers in New York. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Brown University and her Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Nora is a founding member of Pencils of Promise, which has built over 300 primary schools in Laos, Ghana, and Nicaragua. She is an avid marathon runner, most recently training for the 2023 Berlin and 2023 NYC marathon to support cancer research and patient advocacy (American Cancer Society), and is about to embark on summer training for the 2024 Chicago and NYC marathons.
