Michelle Zimmerman is a healthcare operator and advisor with 15 years of experience building and scaling tech enabled healthcare companies from pre-seed to publicly traded.
Michelle was the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Sema4 (now, known as GeneDx Holdings Corporation), a clinical data and genomics company. In this leadership role, she helped to take the Company public (NASDAQ: WGS), oversaw development of Company’s new lines of business including population health encompassing pharmacogenomics, genomic health, polygenic risk scores and RWE-based health insights.
While at Sema4, she was also the GM of Oncology Solutions, where she built the business unit from scratch; developed the strategy and GTM to gain customer adoption – resulting in tens of millions in run rate revenue. In this role, she launched five genetic testing products, which drove 250% growth in test volume and tens of millions in revenue via deep collaborations with health systems and integrated provider networks.
Prior to Sema4, she founded and led the growth of Mavencare’s US tech enabled homecare business, which sold to Bayada. In this role, she built the operational and sales process, secured health plan contracts, and hired and managed teams across ops, clinical, sales.
She also was the Chief Innovation Officer at AlphaCare, a managed care plan focused on Medicare, duals, and Medicaid Long-Term Care that was acquired by Magellan Health. In this role, she led the Company in identifying opportunities to create digital products resulting in the prototype and proof of concept for a new application to service home care and care management. She was responsible for connecting AlphaCare with technologies and services to support business needs and implementing across company. She also led the team that launched a new Institutionalized SNP line of business (Medicare risk-based product in nursing homes).
