Greg Samios is currently the President and CEO of the Clinical Effectiveness business at Wolters Kluwer, the largest business within Wolters Kluwer Health. Clinical Effectiveness has a strong global footprint with customers in more than 190 countries and is known for its highly trusted, industry leading brands of UpToDate, Lexicomp, Medi-Span, Emmi, and Facts & Comparisons.

Greg brings decades of experience as a customer-focused executive in the healthcare and information sectors. Throughout his career, he has been passionate about working with customers to understand their unique challenges and deliver deep impact where it matters most.

Previously, Greg was the President and CEO of the Health Learning, Research & Practice (HLRP) business at Wolters Kluwer. He joined the HLRP business in May 2019, to lead the acceleration of its digital transition to customer-centered software solutions that help to reduce variability in care and outcomes. He focused on implementing a lean approach to all aspects of its business transformation to drive growth and innovation.  Known for its high-quality evidenced-based and reference content, HLRP’s leading product brands, Lippincott® and Ovid® are recognized globally by healthcare professionals to support education, research, practice and certification needs.

Previously, he was the President and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. business, a position he held since September 2014. Greg oversaw the Legal & Regulatory US business’ successful digital evolution that seamlessly integrated cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled expertise directly into practitioners’ workflows to deliver new enterprise-level, lifecycle offerings that supported its customers’ business imperatives. Concurrently, he further strengthened the firm’s reputation for providing best-in-class content.

Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer, Greg served as the President of Health Programs at Kaplan Test Prep, successfully expanding innovative online offerings and customer-focused solutions that resulted in significant growth.

He has also held senior executive positions in professional publishing at Reed Elsevier, including President of the medical education and communications division, Excerpta Media, where he was responsible for sucessfully launching products and services in new growth sectors; and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Development for Elsevier Health Sciences, where he expanded the company’s position in high-growth areas and further advanced its business leadership position. Greg has also held executive positions including Executive Vice President, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Development at Reed Business Information, a provider of data services, business information and marketing to businesses.

He has utilized his expertise to provide mentorship through many adisory and board positions in the healthcare and broader information industries, collaborating with entrepeneurs and the investment community.  Greg received his MBA from Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business and his BS/MS degree in Engineering from the University of Rochester.
