Aran Ron, MD is a physician executive with more than 25 years of healthcare experience in senior leadership roles in hospitals and health plans, venture capital, and benefits management.
Aran is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Group Health Incorporated (GHI), a $3 billion health plan, prior to their merger with HIP Health Plans that formed Emblem Health Plans. After the merger, he became Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Emblem, the $8 billion merged entity.
Previously, Aran held physician leadership roles within Oxford Health Plans, New York Downtown Hospital, and Beth Israel Medical Center. His experience also includes being the CEO of Partners Health Plan (special needs MLTC plan), co-founder of Kaden Health, a virtual telemedicine company focused on treating patients with opioid disorders, part of the founding team and Chief Medical Officer of Oscar Health Plan, and an operating partner for Bessemer Venture Partners. Aran serves on several non-profit boards and teaches at Cornell Medical College and Columbia Business School.
His functional background includes providing direct medical care as an internal medicine physician, medical management and education, health plan strategy and operations, quality, utilization and disease management, clinical policy, contracting, and new venture development.
